Interview Question
I just thought it was interesting that in some recent interviewing the question about technology came up about 98% of the time. And thanks to 307, I was able to come up with on the spot lessons I might teach using new technology. I am almost positive the interviewers did not even know what kind of computer "program" I was talking about.
But most importantly, they seemed to be impressed!
In other words, the new technology we are learning right now just might be the thing that lands you a job!

I agree completely with your insight here Lauren that it is crtical to be able to talk intelligently about how to use technology apps to engage students.
What specific kinds of questions have you been getting in interviews?
That is very reassuring. It's nice to hear that something I'm learning in college is directly preparing me for the job field. Like Dr. Stearns asked, I'd also like to know what specific kinds of questions you're being asked. I have awhile before I have to seriously worry about interviews, but I'm already getting nervous, and I would appreciate any heads up you can give!
Hi Lauren, I'm browsing for new content and responses to Savanna's and my questions.
I find it difficult to prepare for interviews. They always ask the same questions with maybe a few new ones, but they are questions that ask you to talk about yourself. They want to know about your experiences as a student teacher. They usually ask you to walk them through a lesson, or walk them through what your classroom looks like. There is usually a question about classroom management:how do you deal with student A or student B? Another popular one, is the question about differentiated instruction: how do you teach a lesson to the gifted and the needy in one class? What do YOU do?
And last but not least: What can you give to our school? What makes you the best? Why should I choose you?
Goodluck!
Though interviewing for schools is a long way off for me. I think your insights about how your tech understanding imporved your chances for employment. The types of questions that you were asked were very helpful too.
